VIC'S ADDITIONAL SWIMMING POOL TIP FOR THE MONTH
DECEMBER

SPECIAL TIP: BUSH FIRES & PROLONGED HOT SPELLS INCREASE THE POOL WATER TEMPERATURE & DRAMATICALLY INCREASE THE GROWTH OF BACTERIA & ALGAE.

ALWAYS RUN THE PUMP & FILTER LONGER & ADD EXTRA CHLORINE IN PROLONGED WARM WEATHER!

BUSH FIRE FALLOUT
With all the devistating bush fires burning in many parts of Eastern Australia, many people will be suffering from high pH levels. This is caued by the fire ash & smoke landing in the pool, even if the fire is many miles away.
You will find that you need to correct the pH level down possibly two or three time a week using dry or liquid acid for the next couple of weeks & use extra chlorine.

Also be careful when the first rain falls after a fire, the air will still be full of smoke & the rain will have a very high pH level.

VACUUMING A DITRY POOL (Even just covered with fire ash)
I still have to remind everyone

NEVER vacuum a dirty pool & especially a pool with algae in it through the filter, always vacuum to waste. (email for the notes on algae & vacuuming to waste from my FAQ section.)FAQ's

Please DO NOT shock pools with Chlorine & add algaecide at the same time. Use only one chemical at a time to clear up your pool, you are wasting money using both at the same time.

KEEPING THAT POOL CLEAN & BEAUTIFUL ALL SUMMER:
I am always getting emails which ask the same questions so I have now formulated a FAQ page which allows you to download a PDF file answers to many of the questions asked.

You can still email me direct or use our POOL HELP REQUEST FORM if you feel I have not covered the subject of your pool problem in the FAQ section & I will answer your emails, it just takes some of the load off answering 20-30 emails a day. - FAQ's
