Vic, I did exactly as you said - loaded pool up with chlorine on Fri. eve, vacuumed and cleaned any algae off walls and floor and HEY PRESTO ! Sat. morning everything started to look a lot bluer. By Sunday morning everything was 100% clear and blue thanks to you !!!! Right now the chlorine is still at 5 ppm but it is falling, so we will be swimming I think in 1 day's time. ANYWAY - THANK YOU. They stated that the calcium hardness is at 640 versus the OK level at 200-275. They recommend draining 80% of my 30,000 gallon pool and refilling. My wife is absolutely in love with the idea of a brand new swimming pool. The large company sales people that I have talked to so far seem like such jerks. I am trying to find information on in-ground swimming pool construction and am very interested in not getting ripped off. I am amazed at how hard it is to find good information on the net.
